I. Call to Order by Cary Adams at 6:50 p.m. and Pledge of Allegiance recited.
II. Roll Call by Yvonne Demery with 12 present, 5 excused, 2 absent – Quorum present.
III. Minutes of November 18, 2009 submitted for approval - Yvonne Demery
Motion #09:043 by Gloria Gold second by Don Haward to accept the Minutes as amended for the Regular Monthly Meeting held on November 18, 2009.
Motion carried by unanimous vote
IV. Community Comment on non-agenda items
a. public officials
Joaquin Macias - Council District 2
• An update on the election was given
• 50 people attended the clean up area near Women’s Care Cottage and the DWP lot behind the Vallarta Market on Oxnard.
• Vines were planted inside and outside of Roy Romer Middle School
Eric Menjivar – Field Deputy Council District 2
• Suggestion Forms to be filled out and handed back with suggestions for Kitridge and Vineland project site.
• A new gym floor and a new scoreboard at gym as been completed at Victory Vineland Recreational Center.
Melvin Canas – Project Coordinator - DONE
• DONE is working with the election outreach city wide
• 30 presentations throughout the city are being conducted where DONE engages members of the community to learn civic engagement opportunities in the city, also opportunities that Neighborhood Councils provide in terms of civic engagement.
• Region A is having first round of elections.
• MTNHNC is in Region C and presentation is going to be on January 28, 2010.
Sandra – LAUSD Outreach
• Construction is in progress with the outdoor swimming pool to be completed by the first quarter of 2010.
• Pending projects are: DWP enclosure for power, interior finishes, concrete paving and sidewalks
• Bellingham Primary Center is being expanded to elementary school - site is ready for construction by February 2010.

VII. Board Member Announcements/Comment on Non-Agenda Items
Radomir Luza
• KABC Town hall meeting is projected for February or later
• A stage needs to be found for First annual San Fernando Poetry Festival
• Radomir’s dad passed away on November 24, 2009
Vivian Sampson
• KABC offered their services for the community to introduce L.A. history to the public
Yvonne Demery
• More input is needed from the Board regarding the Agenda content

• Next meeting is on January 25, 2010 at 8:30 p.m. at the North Hollywood Police Station

• There will be no meeting in December due to the holiday.

• North Hollywood Recreation Center is hosting the holiday event from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. with entertainment, refreshments and games
• The caroling bus has been cancelled due to problems with the weather

Clerk, Election Division
Stella Yun gave presentation regarding 2010 Election Procedure
XII. Presentation and discussion regarding resolution in support of a
skateboard park in North Hollywood ¬ Bryant Jiron, Student
Motion #09:044 by Don Harward second Todd Martin -Whereas the skateboarding youth of North Hollywood lack positive and challenging activities in the community. Whereas the nearest skateboard parks are located in Pacoima, Reseda, Burbank and on Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles. Whereas skateboarders require a location that will limit disruption of business and residential property. Whereas Proposition 84 funds are intended to create more open space in low-income areas with skateboard parks specifically identified, be it resolved the MTNHNC supports construction of a skateboard in North Hollywood, preferable on the southeast corner of Vineland Avenue and Kittridge Street.
Motion carried by unanimous vote
